Have you ever wondered what type of Aura may surround you? Or the Aura that you may be emanating to the rest of the world?
While most people can’t see an Aura, many claim to have felt some kind of energy from another – calm, insecurity, control, joy, etc. etc.
So when I learned of Aura photography, I couldn’t help but indulge in a photo session.
As background, the first Aura photo was made by the genius scientist Nicola Tesla in 1891, but the most recently developed and widely used Aura Photography technology is often called ‘Aura Imaging’ and is a form of electromagnetic biofeedback invented by Guy Coggins in the early 1980s.
Aura photography aims to capture (and then make visual through a photograph) energy patterns not normally visible to the human eye. The camera does not “see” your aura the way a regular camera responds to refractions of light. Instead, hand sensors read the electromagnetic energy emissions from key meridian points (energy channels) on the palms.
In addition to the revealing what color energy you are experiencing (the color that would best describe you and your aspirations), the photograph also reveals the future (the energy coming in), as well as your expression (the energy felt by others around you).
There are two hand sensors connected to the camera where photograph subjects place their hands for a short period of time. In the camera, a computer records the electromagnetic signals and then translates them into the corresponding color frequencies. What shows up on the resulting photograph is a visual translation of a person’s electromagnetic emissions.
In my photo session, my Aura photo revealed yellow energy both coming in and going out. According to Color Insights Yellow illuminates our conscious minds, brightening our spirits and sharpening our intelligence. The light of yellow can encourage more optimism and cheerfulness.
My experience color (the color seen over my head) was red. Again, according to Color Insights, Red connects us with our root chakra enhancing our connection to the earth and our physical selves. Red stimulates vitality, sharpens the senses, and strengthens will power. Red brings the courage, confidence and stamina needed to overcome life’s challenges, and gives us the passion and drive to manifest our desires.

What exactly an ‘Aura’ is, and whether or not these camera technologies are accurately recording it, is a subject of both mystical and scientific debate. But I’d like to think that everything in the Universe seems to be just a vibration. Every atom, every part of an atom, every electron, every elementary “particle”, even our thoughts and consciousness are just vibrations. Hence an Aura may most simply be put as a electro-photonic vibration response of an object to some external excitation (such as an ambient light for example).
